Special Projects

The Golden Retriever Foundation plays a pivotal role in advancing canine health through its funding of specialized initiatives. One noteworthy endeavor supported by the foundation is the Morris Animal Foundation’s Golden Retriever Lifetime Study. This long-term research project aims to comprehensively examine the health and well-being of Golden Retrievers over their lifetime, providing valuable insights into their unique health needs. Another significant initiative is The Shine On project, a four-year endeavor launched in August of 2020. The primary objective of this project is the development of a straightforward and dependable test capable of predicting a dog's susceptibility to hemangiosarcoma, a particularly devastating form of cancer. By investing in these vital research endeavors, the Golden Retriever Foundation is contributing substantially to the improvement of canine health outcomes and the overall well-being of these beloved pets. --AI Enhanced
